    is it possible to...

Just wondering, if i had power seats, would there be some way for a carputer to mermorise seat positions for a person or set of people. So if a person gets in the car, it would automaticly move the seat and conform it for you, without having to press anything.

Dont know if you remember my ideas from a month or so ago, but it would go great with them

My friend has a Nissan Maxima (I think it's 2002) and it does exactly that. Only he doesn't have a carputer.

It could be done but would be very unrelible. What you would have to do is set the seat to it's max positions and time how long the user moves the seat in any direction. Then the next time it's loaded for that preset you just time it out again. The main thing is to set the seat in it's max position before timing it.

I dont know if that would be necessary. Couldnt you just do it once, and it would be calibrated? I mean, the computer would know where the seat is at because its the one that got it to that position.

You could do it, as long as you had the computer on and only used the computer to move the seat and memorize the setting. Forexample, I had the idea to do this (i don't have power seats so that rulled it out) get one of those mouse scanners, and record the finger movements i think the fellows one allowed you do do finger codes, then each person would have there own finger code. Home brew software would have to be made but, when a person puts there code in, if they havn't already set up there seat positions it would ask them to do so. To set positions, you would just have to run a timer from the furthest back and count in seconds forward and record on the computer. So if the user was really short the seat position would be say 10, this stays the same until the next person puts there finger code in. say this person has already set theres then it would take there number say if it was 6 then it would go 4 seconds backwardsas it always counts.

Not sure if this will make any sence to any one but me, it doesn't have to be a mouse scanner you could use a fingerprint reader
or one of those iris scanners or was it retiner... something like that. It would be cool to have an *** scanner but I wouldn't feel conftorbal if some relative of mine wanted to thier own settings. haha

whooa nellie thats a long post. and some one got to it before me. doh.
