there is only one person making them and I think he charges something like $350? Jedi bought one - he can tell us for sure...

Yeah, Rich is selling his for about that. You might want to send a message to Janus on these boards - he's in europe but is making some bezels. I saw some pictures and they look pretty good. I think after the conversion from Euro to Dollars they were cheaper than 350, but that may have changed from a month or so ago.

I think his email is: christian.a.braun@gmx.de

Yeah... Rich's work seems to be excellent, but I can't say the same for his price. At that amount, I'll do my own fabrication. Time is money, but that's a bit rich for my blood (if you'll excuse the pun).... no disrespect intended toward Rich.

Someone on e46fanatics was looking to fabricate for around 150.00, but I've not heard anything further... and worse... I can't seem to find the original thread with the info. Anyway... I'll look into the Euro offering or just go for it myself. I wanted to avoid fabrication, especially now that summer is here!

    Thanks for the input fellas!

    Thumbs up

I avoided it for a long time but I ended up fabricating my own just because the pre-made bezels were just too expensive. But after I got started it ended up being pretty easy. I started off with a block of Balsa Foam which I shaved down and then covered with Bondo. I'll be finishing up this week hopefully so I'll post some pics.

But it's not all that bad once you get the general shape down.

The $350 was real tuff for mr to front but I was not about to spend the time. I kinda wish I would have searched for a cheaper price, however, the quaity is perfect. I get lots of people thinking it is stock. I did notice a bezel for a single din stereo for teh BMW for $7.95 recently. It looks exactly like the top portion (single din) piece of the bexel. I wonder if someone can make a mold from it. I will post it here when I find it again...

PS. I have had some serious issues with the AZ heat lately. I will give afull update soon. Basically ripped everything out as well as had to order a new Opus. PC is working again, just sitting on my back seat though.

That part is available from your local BMW shop and it's really not expensive.

I'm going to try to use it as a base and extend it downwards to fill the entire 2-din slot and then cut a hole for the xenarc. Should work

Oh.. I just reread the post..

What I mean is the 'filler-plate' that if you don't want to have any radio at all, should be available from bmw for something like 15€.

So what's the solution the problem of the Xenarc's buttons/pcb extending too far down below the screen to fit it in place? I just got my bezel from rich and just assumed that I could put the Xenarc's back case on and it all would fit (then I re-read the posts above ). Jedi, how'd you get it to work with yours? Did you leave the back case off?
