You cannot put the Xenarc's back on if you have Rich's bezel

Ya, I am ready to pull it out and see what the deal is. my screen does not stay snug. Richs bezel looks great, just that the screw holes are fragile and do not lock the screen in place tight enough. I am worried that this will be an on going problem. The screen keeps slipping and it sits on an angle. anyone had any sucess fitting the Xenarc to the bezel REAL snug?

I noticed in Rich's thread that he used spacers on the Lili for the PCB, and zip ties to hold it in place. I guess the spacers will allow the PCB to sit farther back, and hopefully allow the bezel to be in the proper position. But without the back on it, it does seem like the LCD would be more likely to slip out of place (the screw tabs on the side won't keep it from sliding up and down unless they're really cranked down).

    Here's some input from Rich:

    Reply from Rich:
You have to mount the circuit board on a slight angle.
You can angle it up or down. Use Zipties and/or hotglue.

Hark, I think he is right. I had to fit the PCB in sidways but it is just handing there. I was still trying different things out. I think the bigger problem is the sliding of the Xenarc screen. You can not crank the screws down hard enough to fit the xenarc snug. Anyone have any ideas?

I think mine must be a little different - it seems to fit snuggly against the bezel. Maybe he modified his build process because of the problems people were having? What about filling the screw holes with more filler and drilling new holes?

the bottom of the xenarc bezel is cut off, right? That is what I had to do with the bezel that I made so that it would fit in the dash. Cutting off the bottom of the bezel also gets rid of the ridge that the screen rests on too though. Could you simply glue a small strip of plastic for the screen to rest on and fit snugly so that it won't fall down? You could even use some of that foam tape (since it is thick) and stick it on to create a ridge at the bottom for the screen to rest on.

Yeah, me too - I would assume you could get some bondo-equivalent, but I'd ask Rich what he used to make sure it's the same stuff.

I got the screen in using the zip ties and some screw-in eyelets - will post pics in my work log. The next question is how the frame itself screws into the dash (if it does)? I see the holes on the frame's "ears", but the holes on the dash don't have anything hard to screw into. Maybe I lost track of the piece that was supposed to take the screw? Is it just the dash trim strips that are supposed to hold the frame in place?
