Definitely keep me updated on the IBUS deal. I would be very interested in being able to change volume & tracks. Thanks!

I haven't heard from him either. I'm waiting on a piece to be made that I ordered from him a while ago. He's usually fairly responsive. Perhaps he's on vacation or something.

It took a while for mine. I think they take two weeks of work for one. This is assuming he is not on vacation or have other things to do. I was in no hurry so I just waited. It was well worth it

Ok, so I have been busy gathering info for my plan of attack. As of today, I have gone full force into the project. I will be posting pics this weekend of the install process. I just want to post some of my thoughts as I go along. I have made many changes to my initial plan and it seems to keep on changing.

    Progress made:

·Ran power wires and USB cables from the front of my car to the back.

·Installed the I-BUS board (purchased from Rolf Ressler) and hooked it up to the CD changer IBUS cable.

·Modified my ashtrays to hold a USB hub in each (pics coming).

·Removed glove compartment for access to running cables

Changes made to plan or considerations:
·Thinking of ditching the POWERMATE volume knob. Since I am using the steering wheel controls and have a remote for the Audigy, I don’t think I would use the knob as much. I don’t have a good place to mount it.

·Added a second USB hub to the rear ashtray for easy plug in of game controllers.

·Decided to upgrade existing stock HK speakers with component sets. I was thinking of going with MB Quarts seeing that so many people are happy with them in the BMW. Thoughts?

·Thinking about adding 2 5-7'' screens in headrests for passengers.

·Still deciding on what front end to use with the PC. I link CdRSkulls BMW skin for MediaCar but I am also thinking of trying Windows Media Edition 2005.

·I moved my slimline DVD/CDRW player to under the passenger seat (still in distance of my arm). I was having trouble mounting it in the glove compartment.

Ok, i wont bore you any longer. Thanks for all of your input and I will post lots of pics in a few days.

    More pics

Can you post some more pictures of that from further out?
I'd like to see the trunk with the carpet out as well.

I am hoping to start my install in a few days.

    @Jedi: lookin good

Could you post a few pictures on how you have your USB hubs in your ashtrays?

Regarding the MB Quarts - I got a component set for my front doors and I am happy with them. Only complaints are that I had to modify the doors a tiny bit to get them to fit how I wanted, and they are not so heavy on the low-end. You could improve your low-end extension by sound deadending the doors or other means, but that is too much trouble for me. I just have my components crossed over at about 90Hz now and the rest goes to my sub.

hifiguy: There is just a metal bracket that sicks out and I used heavy duty double sided tape to cusion the PCB to the metal bracket and to be sure it would not short on the metal. I then used a tie fastener to hold it right to the bracket and to help support the double sided tape.

Jackboot: Thank you for the reply on the MB Quarts. Everyone has their own opinion on them. Some like some dont. I heard they fit really well but obviously not. I want somthing with good mid/lows and not harsh highs. I wonder what the A/D/S line sounds like or the infinity kappas.

I do not have the USB hub mounted in the ashtray as of yet but I do have it dremmeled and test fit.

I will post a pic once installed. Here are some more pics of the process......
