It took me a while but I found it! Here on ebay...

    USB HUB

Fits in the ashtray. You will have to dremmel out the cig holder on the left side to make it fit snug. this was my first dremmel on the car and it turned out nice. I just painted the hub black to match the ashtray.

    jimothy:

I am not using the crappy headunit. I pulled it out and put my monitor in that space. I am using the external Audigy 2 NX and two aftermarket amps. I have yet to tackle the IBUS software but will very soon. I have the PC up and running as of this weekend. I will rely on CDRSKULLS help from this forum.

    BMW I-Bus How to connect..

Let me know if I can help anymore. I am going to post a bunch of new pics soon. I have the PC working and MB Quart speakers inthe rear hooked up.

Yeah, I'm going to take my HU out as well, but I'm going to keep the HK Amp. I was just curious what connector you were using to go from the sound card -> Amp. But since it's aftermarket it'll probably be different than my setup.

Ya, I hate shipping Natzi's on Ebay. I picked up the hub at Frys Electronics for $19.99 regular price

Ok everyone. Here is another update. Quite a bit of new items to address. I have since:

    Installed
MB Quart speakers in the front and rear
Xenarc and custom bezel into dash.
    USB hub installs
    Started configuring Frodoplayer
    Extensive re wiring of PC.
Knocked out the skit pass plate to give access to the cabin

It sure does not sound like alot but man, I have been working on it non stop. Almost got a divorce over it . There is just so many little things you run into that slow the process. Enough talking....here come the pics...

notice the crap that BMW says is Premium sound. Paper Harmon Kardon speakers. I wanted to show how to take the mounting rings off of the HK speakers and use them to fit after market speakers:

finished product installed. MB Quart 5.25% coaxials in the rear (ref series)

I got sick of the wire mess so I made it look nice...

Take an electric drill and twist your wires together.

MB Quart 6.5in Premium components in teh front doors. The 6.5in barely fit and take some modifications. Not sure if Iw ould recommend, however, they sound great!

Xenarc mod with BMW bezel. This phase was crazy. I thought it was tough pulling apart a brand new BMW. Cracking into a brand new Xenarc was not fun. Not too hard, just take your time. I held my breath a lot.

    Looking good Jedi...

by the way, have you, or has anyone else heard from srcstc lately? I ordered one of those custom trim pieces back in October of last year, but he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth...

If you dont mind me asking, how much did you get the Quart Premiums for, and where? I am shopping around now for a set. I might end up going with reference instead (save some cash). Did I read it right that you have the premiums in the front and ref's in the back? I realize you dont sit in the back seat while driving but did you happen to notice any sound quality difference? (that is, if you have the system hooked up yet)

Your install is coming along great!
