    Alti:

I was in the same boat. I was really not sure what to get at first. I actually had never heard the Quarts before. However, a common theme was to spend the more money on the fronts versus the rear. I t made some sense to I decided to. I can tell you that the Premiums are made better, sounds better, and the crossovers are 100% better. I have my system hooked up and I have yet to really tune it. I am running a Sony ES amp to them with 50 watts x 4 (which is considered low for these). I really can tell how much more rich the fronts are from the rear. I am running seperates in the front and coaxials in the rear. The sound sounds very good. People say that the tweeters are too high and harsh. I can see what they mean, however, the Premiums have a corossover that you can tweak this with and all you have to do is tune the system with an eq. I can keep going, but I will spare everyone else. My advice, spend more on your fronts no matter what brand you go with. This is the first car that I did this with and I will always go as much as I can with the fronts.

Ebay for all my equipment. I bought from one of the sellers on there that always is posting Quarts. i think I spent $250 for the fronts, $maybe $120 for the rear, and $110 each for the ref subs. I have yet to hook the subs up yet so i do not want to write a full review on the components until I get some bass in there. Feel free to ask more questions on these. Again, I was just in the same boat.

thanks for the reply, that really helps alot. Do you think the harshness of the highs in the reference is somehting that you could tune out with the crossover in the amp/ or even the pc's software EQ? Thoose prices are exactly what I was looking at as well, such tough decisions.

Love the install, I think my next car will be a 3. I liked them anyway, but all the possibilities of the ibus is just awsome.

not sure about the refs. I know that you would probably be happy with the refs if you had solid amps and a good eq software. It seems I can make any song sound good with some eq adjustments. I just think the Premiums give off such a rich sound. I had Sony ES seperates before, and although they sounded good, I have never heard rich sound before like the premiums. just my 2 cents. if the prems are too much of a strectch, just go refs. however, if it is a toss up and you can afford either, just not sure if you are getting what you pay for on the premiums....go with the premiums. you will not be sorry.

To spend or not spend. I will likely spend, going to think more on it tonight. I have poured so much into this setup, if the sound annoyed me i would end up spending more money fixing it.

I think Rich is way too buy anymore and not making them

jedi7001 can you post more pics? How do you like not having a Car head unit? Does it sound alright/ My biggest fear is loosing the head unit, even Rich did not like loosing his.

Do you have any pics of the back of the Rich made custom Bezel? I think i can make one I just need to see the back side of it. I would rather buy one, but i have been trying to get one for like 4 months now from him
