    Internal USB Hub?

Do they make an Internal USB hub? i will need a hub for my USB items but i dont want to buy a normal one for two reasons
    1) im going to crack the case open anyways, going to mount it to a panel in the car to make it look clean
    2) i dont want to have to splice the power for it. would like to just use one of the power supply hookups (HHD/CD power plug)

    any suggestions?
I dont really have the ability to make one, my electronics skills are weak..

huh? why would u need an internal hub? if you have a m10000, you have 2 on the back and 2 more on the header. most other motherboards have extra usb's on the hedaer too.

    1) fine....then mount the usb hub on the same panel too.

    2) so get an unpowered usb hub.

You can buy a PCI card with more USB ports.

Do you mean one that stays inside the computer case? If yes, then you could take a small USB hub and tap into the 5V molex connector and power it that way.

They also have the 3.5" drive bay hubs.

You could simply remove it and put it internally as well.

im going with the nano board when it comes out.. so 2 on the back and 4 on board.. it will all be built in to the glove box (space limitations, no case, custom cover)
It will have a CF reader and a smart card reader.. there goes 2 of the 6 USB ports.. sort of a waste for just readers..
there will be a lot more USB stuff.. GPS, ECU hookup, multiple cams (might use a home security connector CCTV?) FM receiver.. radar detector.. and i was going to mount a few (at least 1) to the front panel for connections (USB key chain or such)

it doesnt HAVE to be powered, but i was going to use the hub for the ones for the front panel stuff which depending on whats plugged in to it MIGHT need power.. so... power it now, no problems later..

the 3.5 drive bay sounds like just what im looking for, thanks.

Alot of the internal 3.5" drive bays have a USB header. This is what will be used to connect the drive to the USB on the board.

True, he just needs to make sure he orders a hub version...

These look like you connect 1 or two in and get 4 out.

    only its self powered...
I know when i used a USB hub before i ran in to power issues with a cam and a few other things on it.
I guess i could use this for the CF/smart media reader and for the free port on the interface..

    great.. thanks guys..

i knows you have space problems, but a PCI USB card will be much more simple and is already self powered..
