USB 2.0 3.5" hard drive adapter - WOW!

I too am running +5v to my USB hub and split off to my DVD drive, so it wil have separate power, but the USB adapter thing should not need separate power too -- i hope.

Gonna bring this topic back up. I now have the IDE>USB adapter as decribed above. It works great. The device itself is powered off the hub but your drive will need to be powered. I'm running my drive off the PSU at the moment. (Hint: PSU wires are +12VDC - yellow and +5VDC - red). Laptop harddrives only need the 5V connection. Have tested with one 3.5" and two 2.5" drives. (This was the only way I could get my data off one of the 2.5"s since that laptop died while I was in Iraq.)

Good info. I was wondering if I extended the wires coming from the psu if I could buy this and scrap that power cord they have.
