in addition..do I require a seperate power supply?
Im planning an in-car PC and am considering the following options
- VIA EPIA M10000 Nehemiah Mainboard
- Travla C134 mini-ITX EPIA M case
- ITPS Power Sequencer/LDO Module
- 256/512 PC2700 333MHz DDR DIMM - Ultra Low Profile
- Slim 24X Slot Loading DVD-ROM & CD-RW - Panasonic CW-8123-B
- Slim CD-IDE Adapter (2 of these? one for 2.5" hdd?)
- Seagate 40GB Momentus 5400 rpm 2.5" Drive - ST94011A
I have searched the forums and have found various information on some of these products, however I would like someone to comment on this setup before I go ahead and part with my hard earned cash. Have I selected everything for a basic pc setup?
The system will mainly be used for mp3's (will the onboard sound be good enuff? does this connect to my amplifier simply enough?)
It will be connected to lilliput 7" touchscreen.
Also I know that the case is the same size of a car headunit, but has anyone actually fitted this into a 1DIN slot?
do a on all the problems with the ITPS
You will probably be better off buying an opus instead...
Do a to ensure I'm correct - I am actually just buying parts myself right now but I'll pass along the knowledge I've gathered anyway...
If you buy an opus, it is a startup/shutdown controller and powersupply in one unit so you won't need the onboard psu. The opus will have all the connectors right on it...
I bought a 150w OPUS and very pleased with it's performance. I'm sure if you go to them direct http://www.opussolutions.com/150watt.html they will send it to you.
Are you going to need GPS? I bought a Delorme Earthmate USB unit for about $130 US.
Subaru WRX Wagon
is it viable to have this psu outside of the case?
does anyone have actual experience of fitting the Travla C134 mini-ITX EPIA M case into the dash board DIN slot.
in almost all cars, the travla DIN case is too long for the hole you have in your car
and ventilation is near zero there
