My first thought was, "Damn, that heatsink is enormous!"

Then, I remembered that the board is really, really small, so the heatsink is probably typical size.

The cool part is that this thing has the potential to outperform any known EPIA (except the P4 - ITX). I mean DDR400 memory, SATA etc. WOW

They say at VIA that the 1GHz model will be passively cooled also. WOW again

    Specs here.

Will it be faster than the M10000 then?

I am waiting on this for my next project. I have bought a CD changer and ripped out all its guts and kept the one thing I wanted, the shock absorbing frame. It has a frame within a frame and they are coupled with these little shock absorbers. My nano itx will go into the inner frame, along with the drive etc. The 10000 is too big for the frame.

Anyone know the big question - when will it hit stores and what will the CPU be?

Yeah just a pity it's going to be so long till it's released, I was hoping it would have been out long ago!

I mean the end of the year!!!!!

Well it should be. The word spread is that there going to be 2 models :
a 533MHz model and an 1GHz one both passively cooled!

Just to tease you some more how about a socket 775 mini-itx with DDR2 and PCIexpress?

    And another one from DFI

    That's what I call overkill

Me thinks about a complete 1Ghz din unit.... toss some thin solid state memory (maybe some CF) and you've fot yourself a pretty non-computer....

I wish they were available now... it puts all of our current micor-itxs to shame...

Makes me feel big tho... haha

Boy I'd love for the trend to be "Size does matter, smaller is better!"
