Hi All, I've been planning my carputer for about a week now and wanted to get some coments on my plan. Are the parts I've selected going to work? Is there something cheaper that would work or something I've forgoten?
The PC it's self is not mentioned because I've allready got it. Sorry about the bad drawing. It's just to get an idea.
Thanks,
X

Just make sure you are able to supply power to everything. I've made up two diagrams of my system. One has the power wires for each item and the other has the data cabels. So, in your instance you have to think about having such long data cabels such as the vga and usb. If you use a bluetooth camera, you give up having to supply a data cabel, but now you have to worry about the power. Same thing with the usb hub. Will it supply enough power for each device that is running off of it? As long as you think about all the connections that you have to make, I'm sure your design concept will work just fine.
1. What is the 'box'?
2. Why is your camera up there for reversing when you got a big boot, surely it should be at bumper level or just above at the back of the car?
Thank you! I completely forgot power to the USB hub. Maybe the webcam isn't the best idea. I just didn't like the cost of the real reverse cameras. I would however like to have the reverse camera feature. I want to find the smallest, most unnoticeable camera possible.Originally Posted by Ill1
On the power thought someone told me it would be a good idea to have a second battery in the trunk hooked up in parallel with the original. Is this necessary?
By "box" I meant speaker box. It's 2 10"s in an enclosure I got a while ago.Originally Posted by Enforcer
I thought putting the camera inside the car there would be the best because It would give a pretty good view and it would stay dry. I would like to have the camera outside at bumper level but didn't know how. Guess I'll![]()
Thanks for the sugestion.
