    TC10000 RAM/memory question

    Hi Guys

1st thing, anyone got the beep codes for a tc10000? Mine gives me 1 long beep continuously.

2ndly, i am using pc2100 256mb ddr 266 memory, as stated. But i believe this is the problem with the board.
    Anyone know about this?
    Cheers

the epia boards are all using the AWARD BIOS [if i'm not mistaken]...so you should AWARD BIOS BEEP CODES and a resource will show you the answer

it is most likely a memory seating problem
don't let a day go by without finding some wonder in it...

My M10000 only works with non-ECC RAM.

    Hi

I am using a ps2 keyboard and mouse, but even with them unplugged i get this error. I am lead to believe it is a ram problem, according to the beep code of 1 long beep, pause, repeat forever......

I bought my PC2100 256MB DDR266 ram from ebay. It has a CL of 2.5 and I am sure it is non-ecc (at least i think it is when i checked earlier.) How can i be sure of this? The supplier of the mobo (www.icp-epia.co.uk) said its a ram problem and that i should use SO-DIMM. Surely all ram that fits into the slot is SO-DIMM, or am i wrong here? It is minature laptop ram.

If so, where is the best place to look for replacement RAM,and what exactly should i ask/look for?

I need it cheap as I wasnt expecting to have to pay out for more ram.
    Cheers all

Pabs, my EPIA M10000 EDEN is doing the same beep code. I've done some research but the code is VERY vague, i.e. "main board problem, Video problem, ram problem". I've swapped out the ram to no avail. I'm considering RMAing it to VIA. There was some talk that the bios may have lost its mind, but since I have disabled the floppy seek in the bios, I won't be able to re-flash it. Good luck. Let me know what you find.

No matter what you have set in BIOS, the M/B will allways try to boot from the floppy in case a BIOS checksum (corruption) error occurs. The floppy init routines are in the non-flashable portion of the BIOS (boot block) and it should work unless the M/B sustained physical damage. Just throw in a floppy drive and you'll see the mobo try to boot from it even if you can't see anything in your screen. You should be able to flash it.
