    Arrow carputer docking-station

Hi, I was thinking about this:

Since I'm not that much at home and listen to music more in my car than at home. I don't need all of the equipment in my home.

I was thinking about making some kind of docking-station where the psu and standard connectors like audio/video/control/etc. would easily fit in.

In my car I would have a docking station with sproggy's psu in and all other connectors for the audio (and in future video) + rest.
And in my home one too with the original(110/220v) power supply..

So these dockingstations too would have their own outputs (vid/aud/contr)

I was thinking about this because I don't want a bunch of equipment in my home like a dvd/cd-player and the rest because I won't use it much more than like not even once a month.. (only thing I need at home is a tv and a dolby amplifier which i already have)

It would be used a lot in the car though.

When I'm at home i won't be using the equipment in the car, so why not bring it in and have the same music/video collection in house than in the car.

The idea on this is very rough and needs a lot of work and ideas (like: maybe i could put the sproggy psu in the computer case so i could use the computer everywhere if there's just 12v, but then, I don't know if this psu would get damaged if the other original psu will be attached to it, to feed it from the dockingstation) , but what do you guys think of it..? would it be worth doing ?

It would be a real space-saver in the house. only thing to see is a small docking-station..

    Anyway,

    Greetz

I would set up two computers with thier own equipment. One for the car and one for the house. Then just have one storage drive that you can swap between the two. I know that means more money but it would be fewer headaches and easier on the computer.
