Arrow Where to you buy blade wire connectors for your power switch?

So I'm installing a radioshack 25A lighted on/off switch in the front of the car. I went to buy those little blade connectors to attach my power/source/ground wire to. However, unfortunately they only have ones that fit very small 18AWG (or something like that) wires.

I am looking to fit 8AWG wires straight from my battery to the switch to a distribution block.

Does anyone know where they sell these (especially local - not online)??

I may head over to Canal St on my lunch break and check out some of stereo shops.

The largest I have seen are for 6mm2 wire (around 10 AWG)... The yellow series isolated crimp connector (Red=17-15 AWG; Blue=15-13 AWG; Yellow=13-10AWG). I have seen (on electrical supply stores), though, eylet connectors (I don't know the exact name - they are like a washer with a crimping part for the wire) for wires up to 35mm2 (2 AWG), maybe you can screw these to your switch.

But there is always the option of directly soldering the wire to the switch terminal or cutting a few of the wire strands so it fits on the connector...

what i did for the 6 ga cable i had is..i took a few UNINSULATED 12-10 gauge (yellow) female disconnects and took pliers to stretch the opening and than crimped them back on, used a little solder, and a lot of electrical tape.

radioshack should have them...along with hardware stores or automotive stores.

Thanks for the feedback. I just went to another RadioShack (There are 5 within 3 blocks from me in NYC) and found these gold connectors where you can fold each side down. That should work. Do you recommend solder as well? or is electric tape good enough.

if you cant crimp it down enough, then solder it.

you should be able to find connectors that will fit at autozone, or most other autoparts stores
