ah... easy one. disable your secondary IDE controller (if that is where your cd used to be) so that the bios doesn't try to look there for a device. Same thing with the floppy controller, but windows might have an issue with that.
ok so i have an old 366 mhz emachines computer im installing in the car.
it used to boot up really fast
i timed it at around 30 seconds form turn on to playing music.
however now it stays at the emachines boot up screen for at least 2 mins then it continues on to the windows loading screen.
anyone know why it does this?
do i need to change anyhting in the bios since i took out the floppy and Cd dirve?
