    ipod as Hard drive

    im using a 1st gen ipod as a external firewire HD it works fine however everytime i boot up with it plugged in scan disk runs in windows XP and scans the ipod every time!! it takes a long time also. its only 5 gigs but it scans like its a 80 gig HD.

    is there any way to disable it?
    im using windows XP
    or a way to ocnvert the ipod to hard drive ONLY?

    my registry is already set like that.
    and the other solutions dont work.
    the ipod can be scanned and shows no problems.
