hi.
i have a laptop in my car, and it makes really disturbing droning when i use the car adapter for the laptop, without the car powersupply it is fine. someone an idea how i could filter out this noise?
i use the iGo - iJuice90. Works very well.
You need to be more clear, what noise, where, in HD, do you have audio out connected to the HD, are using FM trans/mod - aux-in or AMP. You need to explain your setup in more detailes if you are looking for an answer. Also, deatiles on how the pc is powered.
@D-Rob76: Look for it on ebay, ive got mine with the laptop, but i have seen there many car adapters.
ok sorry, its a 500MHZ laptop running win2k. i am simple using the speakers out of the soundcard. the noise is a background noise in the speakers. i have a 4x45W amplifier. the noise has a constant level, so if i turn the music louder i cant hear it. it sounds like an old Commodore 64 loading from a tape (if you know how that sounds) you can hear how the laptop boots, when the hd turns sometimes faster etc... and this noise stops when i remove the car adapter, and use the laptop battery
you might want a ground loop isolator. the power adapter doesn't have the best ground and therefore is causing some interference. either try to ground the power inverter better, or maybe try the ground loop isolator. you can get one from radioshack. also, search on the forum, this has been covered a lot im sure.
