irman eye

What do you guys use to put an external eye on these things? I mightget one but haven't decided yet. I bought a Q Logic lcd tv system as my lcd awhile back and now that I am revamping the system I thought about using an irman, the qlogic system came with a remote and it also came with an ir eye that just has a couple of wires into a plug, so if I can use that I would consider it.

The Irman has an external eye. Most of the people here that have one extends the eye, like I did by putting it in the LCD case. The Q Logic lcd tv system eye will probably only work with the remote that was supplied with it. The Irman can use any remote.

You can also add another one to it like I did. Makes it easy when you want to take the box out of the car to configure it. That way you dont ahve to take the irman out ...cuz it's already inside the PC.

My plan if I use the irman is to have an eye mounted where my ashtray was in my dash, but so that it could be d/c when I took the computer out to work on it. I don't really wanna go spend the $35 to find out that I can't really extend it how I want it.

If you want to keep the cost down, you could allways build your own, have a look at this site

The observant ones of you will notice that the name of the guy who owns the site is the same as the guy who writes the Irman plugins, coinsidence? I don't think so.

its a good site the UIR pages. shame its has not been updated in quite a while..

Does anybody remember where to get the extra irman eyes??? I found this in a search but it lookes like the site is closed. Every page just has a picture of some guy rock climbing.
