Sorry its not a Range Rover its a Rover 75, but as far as i am aware most of the electrical systems on the Rover 75 are the same as the 3 series BMW of the same sort of year.

Seeing as my laptop doesn't have a serial port at all...I am also very very very interested to know if this would this work. But wouldn't you have to change the software to recognize the USB port as the "comm" port? (I don't know software...so HELP)!

No changes needed, windows sees it as a new comm port. Search eBay for usb serial and you'll find plenty of 'em for cheap, eg, around $10-15.

    Hi,

To download IBUSCOMM, go to the sourceforge web site :

    Excellent!

Excellent work! I believe there are many people in search of what you have found!

I am ordering Rolf's adapter today.

Question: When I run the IBUSComm application I get an error message: "Componenet 'MSCOMM32.OCX' or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

Any ideas? Maybe I need to have Bebox installed even though I won't be using it? (I want to control WinAmp and TheaterTek with this tool).

    Thanks,
    Paul

to solve this you have to register the file go to the command line (start, run) and type in

    regsvr c:\windows\system\mscomm32.ocx

then the file will be in your registery, and the program can run

of course the file must be installed it can be downloaded from http://www.martin2k.co.uk/vb6/vb6download.php

unzip it to the \system directory

    have fun with it

Ok so I can connect to the IBUS and receive signals.

How do I send signals to the IBUS? I tried using IBUS Analyzer 1.0.0.11 and sending it through that. It's log says the message was sent correctly, but the HU doesn't react.

For example, I tried to send "5004683B0106" (without quotes) which is steeringwheel up, but the HU doesn't respond with the right action.

Has anyone tried it with RoadRunner? How could the settings be? I mean, I think RoadRunner doesnt' map keys, so I suppose I have to map WinAmp keys, am I right?

I have just installed the iBus from Resler in my car, but I haven't got it running until I configure it. When I try to open the IBUSComm.exe, I don't see anything, any screen, any error message... is it normal?

    Thanks
