    Lightbulb X10 Alternatives?!

    Hey people ...

It's been a while since I've been working on my mp3car (I haven't touched it since last summer) and it seems like I got my x10 remote (I guess it's now the "MouseRemote," by x10's current website) for like $25. Now that I'm building a house mp3 system for my brother, I looked into getting another one and was shocked to see the exact same remote now goes for $50 ?!!!! Again, I don't remember exactly what I paid for it (about a year ago) but I am sure I didn't spend over $30 or I wouldn't have done it at all.

My question to you guys is - is there an rf alternative to this remote? I cannot go with irman (line of sight) as this setup is intended to be used with the user sitting outside (on the porch) and the computer being on the other side of the house.

I have searched and searched for an alternative to x10 but haven't found a thing yet ... maybe they're out there but it's just impossible to find them sifting through every site that has a reference to x10 (I've noticed they've expanded their crap advertising quite a bit now).

    Thanks for any help.

You're in luck. Ive just dismantled and plan on redoing my setup which will not include my mouseremote. I will sell you mine for $25 straight up if you want it.

    E-mail me if you're interested.

you can also build your own.
UHF transcievers are only like 15$, and then you could have more than one remote for really cheap.
Clarion 200watt head unit w/ Aux in.
    Kicker 800watt 4 channel amp

There is a line of products called leapfrog that convert an IR remote into an RF remote but I don't see any on EBay. If you can find one...it should be cheap.
