but there again, it depends on which one you have. Can you be specific? if you dont know for sure, look around the pci slots, a lot of times there are letters and numbers. Unfortunately, just the fact that it is a Gateway wont help.
Can someone show me which terminal(2) are for the power switch on a mini ATX MB

I found this: http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERB...51475322.shtml
Could u take a look at it?
(I'm a little green at this, obviously)
Which pins do I use?
I see pin 1 at lower left, is pin 8 above it, or is that pin 16?

Yeeesh! they dont just give the info away do they! Their descriptions are HORRID!!! Anyway, heres what I would do: It says pin 6 is Front Panel power button, and reset is pin 5. If you look at the links I found, they dont connect in the normal way, (usually, for example, it would be pins 6 and 8 for power and 5 and 7 for reset). I am really not sure if they are grounding the pins or not but I feel that would be the safest way to try. If it were me, I would say go with the typical set up and short pins 6 and 8 and see if she fires up. If so, then reset should work as I said also.
In case you dont know how the pins are numbered, they start at the marked pin (in your link pic, it is top right hand side) and it goes like this:

U sure pin 1 isn't lower left? The website says:"Pin 1 is indicated by the silk-screened arrow on the motherboard". Looks like that is on the lower left. Regardless, I'll find pin 1 on my MB. But pin 2 is accross from it? they aren't numbered left to right then?
Thanks for your help...

To me it looks like pins 10 and 14 are blanked out in the descriptions, so I followed that thru to make my theory. If you can find a tiny "1" or an arrow somewhere that will be your definate. The pins are typically marked (well, other manufacturers anyway, hard to say with Gateway!) from top to bottom instead of horizontal. One row will be odd numbers and the other will be even numbers.Originally Posted by muldrick
Edit...i just rechecked the pics and it works out. They pull pins 2 and 4 for led's, pin 6 for power, pin 5 for ground, and pin 13 for power.

The pic aint very clear, the pinout table aint good either.
I think gospeed is correct with the pin numbering.
Im sure I can see silkscreen printing "2" on the bottom right and "16" on the bottom left, pin 1 must be top right.
The missing pin also correspond correctly to it.
Yea, I think between the 3 different pics we are just dis-orientedin the last pic it looks pretty clear. Let us know how it goes
