Hardware questions before I order the wrong stuff
I've started building my carputer, I'm receiving most of my parts today. Although I have not ordered a computer to run the system. I'm planning to put the computer under the passenger seat, so I need either a small form factor or a smaller box.
There is aprox. 4 inches of clearence, which means the box can be a max of 4inches in height. I had planned to order a Dell Refurbished SFF from Prefixtech.com because of cost. Although I was also planning to make an order for some additional parts from newegg, so I thought i'd just try to order everything there.
What are your thoughts on this system, would it fit under my passenger seat, would it work for a carpc install etc? http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...factory=BROWSE
If it wouldent work, what would be a good SFF barbones kit from newegg?
My primary concern is that it may skip or there might be issues with it fitting into the car. Putting it into the trunk is an option but if i was going to do that, I would go with a full blown desktop.
Another question, what video card would I need to properly use a 7inch VGA LCD touchscreen? I was reading about how it won't fill the whole screen and I would need to use Tvtool/Powerstrip or a specific video card. What's the scoop on that?
Lastly, I am removing my headunit so therefore I'll need an aftermarket amp to power the additional speakers I'm planning to add and my existing stock speakers. So which AMP would you guys recommend/what kind of setup? I've got 6 speakers in the vehicle now.
I was thinking about this unit:
or a Sony 500watt/4channel to start with.
I've got a few other questions but this is just to get started. Thanks for your input guys...
