    need sugestion for motherbooard

Hi I was trying to run a amd 1.4ghz processor with an asus motherboard and geforce graphics card off of an opus, but to my disappoinment and with the help of some people on here I found out that the opus doesn't have enough power for the graphics card, and i would never get a vga signal on my lilliput, so I plugged in an old 300mhz board with onboard graphics card and it worked fine. SO anyhow what motherboard would you suggest running, it needs to have onboard graphics, and hopefully it would be compatibal with my 1.4ghz processor. I would prefer to buy off newegg also.

If any one has any suggestions on what to buy please let me know

    Jeremy

    Hello,

I have a biostar M7NCG 400 from newegg. Its the only microatx socket A board I could find that allows voltage and frequency adjustments. Sometimes they have refurbished ones for around 20 bucks too, great if you are on a budget and will take a gamble. Powerstrip is letting me display 800x480 and 848x480 on a normal crt monitor, but I dont have a LCD yet to test. Hope this helps.

You might have trouble with Biostar motherboards. I had one, it was great. I had super overclocking capabilities (&hence underclocking) and had a GeForce4mx on board. Unfortunately there is an incompatibility with some Biostart mobos and the Opus power supplies. The opus 150W wouldn't turn on my Biostar M7NCG400 mATX. I've had to switch to another mATX that won't overclock (which means my Athlon-M 2600+ was not being utilzed either) So don't get EPoX.

I would recommend this Chaintech mATX: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...152-020&DEPA=0

(go with mATX - they use less power)
    EPoX mATX SocketA w/onboard Geforce4MX / 512MB PC2700 / AthlonXP 1600
    Lilliput / DVDrom / Opus 150W / WD 3.5" 160GB / SB Audigy NX
XP home / Road Runner / iGuidance 4.0

so will this one work, I'd much rather get it because its only 29 dollars as compared to 77, and since I'm in highschool I don't really have all that much money.

It might work. However Biostar motherboards may not be able to be turned on by the Opus. I am only aware of one specific model that is incompatible, but this one could be too. If so, it won't turn on/off with the ignition. You'd have to use a remote button.
