Does Shuttle cut off power to USB while hibernating ?

Just got my Shuttle PC yesterday and found that when I put the PC into hibernation, the red light in my optical mouse turn off. Does that mean there's no power going to it ? In my desktop the light in the mouse remains on after i shutdown the computer.

I was also told that Shuttle keeps power to the USB when it's shutdown or hibernating.

My shuttle is the SN41G2 version 2.

I know for sure there's still power going to the motherboard as the network connector still have lights blinking but everything that's connected to USB seems to be off.

Does anyone know if having power going to the motherboard be bad enough to drain too much power from the battery ?
