Been Out of the loop for a while

but visiting this site brings back the urge. Uh oh! The reason I stopped the project (see sig) was also because the car pc would be hard to control during driving and there was no good solution for FM radio, lastly my new car came with XM radio. My question is, is it worth it??? Should I go for it again for just get one of the Pioneer Flip outs? How has the radio solution improved?

Seth is busy creating a HU quality FM receiver (+XM, DAB, RDS etc...), that is controllable via I2C bus (and will be via USB and Serial, via doughterboards)... Might be worth to wait for that.

Wow, maybe I will try this again. 1k sure beats the 2k + for the Pioneer flip out I want. I can also start over and hopefully plan better this time. At least now there is a dashkit for my car :-).

Well, they will have I2C busses for expansion and there was talk about adding an XM doughterboard in a later phase... I don't care so much for XM, but I do care about DAB, as that's what we have overhere
