    Talking Parts Express 4" Lcd.

Well my 4" parts express LCD arrived today, in 30 seconds I had it connected to my Book PC.. It is very nice indead. I am using a custom MP3 player I wrote under Win 98. I use a LARGE font with 9 lines of text on one screen (640x480). The Text is easily readable.. I can read it from 5' away, which for a car is plenty. I'm guessing you could run 15-20 lines on it without a problem.
It comes with one page "spec sheet" with pinout, and a pre-made cable.. the cable terminates at an RCA Plug (for video obviously) and two stripped wires for 12v (0.5 amp) and ground. I am powering it off of my PC powersuply, and my mother board as TV out.
It also comes with an undocumented switch to reverse the image (Heads up display anyone? I wil play with this later).
I will try to get up pictures at some point.

    Thumbs up

Dude thats awesome. I was going to go with that one until I saw the 5" with the case for 80 bucks more. I want to mount it on the roof and have it flip up and down as I need to use it.

That is awesome. I will await your pics. I'm still waiting for my bookpc to come. After that I'm not sure what display I will want. I definately like the 5" partsexpress flip lcd, but I'm waiting to see how people put them in there cars.

Xa0s, I'm also thinking about mounting on the roof, let me know what you decide.

Anyone here order theirs from http://www.acnt.com ? I ordered mine last tuesway and still no word from em. Also check out radio shack for a case for the LCD they have one that fits perfect I have some pics up at my site http://www.mp3goesmobile.com

    Question

Not to go off the subject, but did the video mean VGA or true tv-out video? Hell that would be perfect since I have a k6-2 500 just setting here collecting dust!

    xa0s,
    Video is tru tv-out ("Composite").

I placed (I cant realy call it an install) everything in the car for the commute home last night. All I can say is "Sweeeeeet".
Next step, the install. Then shock test the crappy HD i Have in there, When I'm convinced it's safe, put in the HD from my home MP3 Player.
