    I have a few questions...

Why are you using an inveter? Do you include a startup & shutdown controller? Does it survive crank? Also, is this all theory that it all works how you plan? Have you done a installation and worked out all the kinks?

    re

price for 7" in-dash TFT LCD is about US$250. yep u read right. because it is not big brand name like panasonic etc. it is customized just for VGA input.

installation is quite cheap about $50. what u would pay to install a normal radio + amplifier. This PC installs easy because the monitor is 1 DIN size (standard radio slot).

    hello

good question about inverter. well, so u can unclip computer and use it indoor or wherever for mains power. the 220VAC PSU is still inside the chassis. inverter may not be most efficient, but costs in South Africa are much better than DC-DC converters. power source is directly from vehicle battery with own cables, avoids any interference of electrical system. it has permanent power(unswitched), shutdown/startup by user input or delay( motherboard bios/WinXP), working on ignition startup.

I've run both an inverter and an Opus PSU in my car... the Opus is infinitely better... you end up with a massive hassle factor when you're using an inverter in my experience. If you want to use the PC indoors at any time, just attach a normal AC PSU... it'll only take 10 seconds.

Other than that, the system looks excellent... you're gonna have a blast! Looking forward to seeing the finished article!

You end up with a massive hassle because u guys dont want to fixx the problem and want to go the easy route and get something that does it for you.the inverter is cheaper plus it powers a more powerful computer system.
