I don't have my PC under the seat, but I have an AMP under passenger seat.
The AMP I have is Pioneer GM-X374 the size is H1.94" W10.44" D9.31".
The AMP is tight under the seat, especialy the height. So if you can find a case that is about 2" height or less, or if you make one, I think it will work.

Here is the photo of AMP.


Like you can see, the PC case can be much wide. Just not any higher.

BTW, what year is your outback sport?

How did you get the wiring in place for the amp? It looks like you have two different cable routes?

Well, the photo you see above, left side is power and speaker connections and right side is connection from sound card.

I has meaning where and how you routed there cables from within the central arm rest. I have yet to dismantle mine to see where cables could go or how much depth is available in the din slots.

I see, what I did was, I have usb soundcard located under driver seat. That is why cables are going to armrest area. I connected to speakers at the connector where headunit was connected to.
So there are lot of cable at the armrest area.

As for the din space, mine won't be too helpfull, but I have picture of my car when I look everything out of console area. If you see my signature.

holy crap! That would be a kick *** case for a computer! And about the same price as one.

I have the exact same car. The is enough space under the seat for a car pc, but you going to have to keep it extermely low profile. I have mine mounted in a custom enclosure in the trunk. With the enclosure I've built back there, I have nearly unexhaustable amounts of room back there. Now just to mount the Optima battery I just got....

My seats appear to be slightly different to yours. The rear of the seat has a rounded fabric covered bit that comes down pretty low. I'm not convinced I could push even a 2 inch high case in from the back. However, by moving the seat all the way back I can probably get a 3+ inch custom case under there from the front *I think*. I have a micro atx motherboard I'm now thinking of using since I have no other use for it. I'm hoping it will fit under the seat with a half height TV & FM card in one of the 2 PCI slots.

My suggestion would be to put the PC in the trunk as well. Then if you want to save some bucks you could build an enclosure for the dash top where the little compartment goes. Take a look here.
