Do you still have that VB script?
I want to use that script to automatically lock my door and arm the alarm before going into hibernation.

My post is only a second or two, and resume from hibernation (to music playing) is less than 15 seconds, including post.
I played around a bit with bootvisBootVis , and it did seem to help a little bit, but it wasn't exactly a scientific test.

Yea, I'm going to try out BootVis later, just found it
I found a notebook drive RAID! Won't slow down post, and speeds up disk access.

I wrote a small app to do this before.. but it only kills Winamp processes:
Small App: WinampHelper
I can try dig up the source code if you like.
Btw, you can also speed up resume from hibernation by defragging your hibernation file. I don't know if standard windows defrag does this, but tools like Executive Software's Diskeeper will do it.
possible fix, err, bandaid for usb gps/touchscreen suspend/hibernate woes
here is the script that I am working on.
On XP pro try GPEDIT.msc ....computer config/Admin template/system/Logon and enable Always use classic logon and disable Dont display the getting welcome screen.. seems to speed up resume from Hibernation you get a different log off menu which includes Hibernate & you loose the getting started screen no bad thing.
