Athlon 750mhz not fast enough for ya?![]()
anybody have any experience with these cards? the sub and center are on the same output so i'm wondering what happens to the sub when i turn off the surround to play mp3's. i thought it had a separate output for the sub but it doesn't. also, how does the music sound if i leave it on. i haven't hooked this up yet because i'm waiting for my new processor to come in any day now.

mine is just like that but it is a generic one. i just have to hook it up this weekend and see if i loose the sub when i disable the surround for mp3 playback. the sub and center share the same plug. but 1 is left and the other is right so i guess we'll se.
my car will only have a computer in it. no head unit. i have a dvd player so that is why i use a dolby card

So in that case your power amplifier that you have your speakers hooked up to would have to have a digital input , like optical or coaxial (PCM), and a built in dolby digital processor, or digital ready 5 channel outputs to go to a dolby digital ready amp I have never seen an amp with these hookups. What do you have to process the dolby digital sound>?
well its nothing different than what you would have in your living room. the output is strictly analog but separated from the sound card. you will have front-left & right, rear-left & right, center and sub. i wil only use it for dvd playback, so i need another option for music playback. like when i turn the surround off i loose the sub because it is on the same channel as the center. but i'm hoping when i hook it up soon it won't.
I see. I thought you were running dolby digital because of the title "dolby 5.1 sound car"
