You guys should give a little more slack on people. You act like were stupid.
No sleep for 24 hours... that must be why you are cranky, take a nap.

Did you think, just maybe, that a slim slot load drive (many for the finding here in these fourums) would fit in a slim enclousure. Even if you had to do a little moding on one made for HDs.

Here is the link to a mounting kit:

Info on one model slot slim DVD/with a link to a vendor that sells it:

Gee with the info earlier in the thread that you were complaining about and the above two links maybe you can figure out a solution

Get a grip, do some research. Many people here are tired of having to "spoon feed" the newbies that refuse to search and then complain when they get this type of answer.

I know that he is from the UK. I was poking fun at UKers AND Americans AND Google in that post. Go re-read my post. It was extremely tongue-in-cheek.

And by the way, 'real English'?!? Since when does the word aluminum have 5 syllables.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I guess you failed to notice that I did the research for you and handed you the info on a silver platter. It only took me a few minutes, and then I poked a little fun and included some not-so-subtle hints to try to help you from getting flamed in the future. So sue me. I certainly thought that SamDude got my feeble attempt at humor when he repeated the mantra. By the way, NightFireTuning, I don't think you're stupid. But WE ALL do stupid things from time to time. And 48 hours of googling without finding ANYTHING, ... well

You thought right.... It was a feeble attempt.

I was expecting the "Search/Google" replies when I started the thread - but sometimes the obvious is too close in your face for you to see what you really want...

I have the IDE to USB and the IDE to slim drive. I still donŽt have the Panasonic slot-in slim drive, but... IŽll get it soon.
My question is.... would this work with a 5 meters USB extension????
The slim drive works only with the power of the USB, doesnŽt it?

Some require an external power supply. Read the documentation for the USB enclosure you're using.
