I used particle board with mine. It's a little heavier than what I wanted(plexiglass for the next one), but small. 5 inches high, 10 inches wide, and 9 inches deep. I have the inverter and power supply mounted in the box inches from the motherboard(without original cases) with NO interference! I can't believe it. I bought the 5" partsexpress color lcd and have it flush nount in the dash of my '99 Cobra. I bought the LCD based on the praise you guys gave it, and am very pleased, thanks. Anyone recommend something other that plex? PS My CPU is a 200mhz AMDk6 and works great.

Is static electricity much of a problem with plexiglass? There always seems to be alot hanging around the stuff.
Just wondering,

I mounted the motherboard directly on the wood with screws. I didn't really have any problems at all xcept for the LCD backlight not turning on when I started the car, I solved that with a 2 second time delay relay, so now the screen comes on automatically after car is started, when the amp draw from the engine starter is no longer being used. Yes, I do have pictures of the install, just tell me who to send them to for posting. No, I don't know if static would be a problem with plexiglass, but, I could see how it would. I am starting to believe these motherboards aren't as fragile as I had originally thought.
