As far as knocking or praising brands, I just go by what most winning competition sound-off vehicles use. Alpine's always been number one, and I love thier products - even though thier customer support is a joke.

To put in a new radio you need to remove you old. This IS an expensive prop. but worth
it. I like http://www.crutchfield.com BUT that is only cus to install a new radio I needed $120 worth or parts they gave me the parts for $20. Dame Round thingy on the '97 Escort w/ Premium sound. There is also the money saved because you don't have to pay someone else to put it in. And the savings cus, retail is alwasy more expensive. If you got a friend that has done this befor, VOLENTEER him to help you, thats what I did. Just some thoughts.

Is this headunit the same as the DEH-2000R? (http://www.pioneer-eur.com/products/car/deh27en.htm)

If yes; where can i get the aux input addon?

It has aux inputs via a $30 addon box but I opted to open up the case and solder 2 RCA jacks direclty to the circuit board, saving me $28.
The best feature is the ability to rename the AUX input so that it reads "MP3 PLAYER" when mp3's are playing. Just my $0.02
