Malcom... the block heater in facts only heats the engin, not the carputer.
Or course there are more changes the car would start, but yet again, the puter is not warmer.
You could always get a low wattage heating unit. The same idea that they use to keep intakes warm, yanno you plug in your car when you get home? Alot of trucks have that feature, wouldnt be TOO difficult to add.

Oh, a carputer heater plugged with the block heater... Could be a nice addition!

If only he could store the heat generated during run time for when the temperature drops during power down.![]()
you could always just cut the cables![]()

seriously, cut the cables and get some mated connectors. doesn't matter compatability, as long as there are enough pins...
If you make it removable, theives will have an easier time, but they will also leave your dash intact ..
removable drive bay - good idea & cheap....
I was actually thinking of creating a " Hanging " system for the lilliput... have button like hooks on the back of the screen case and then mount the opposing pins on the dash. It would just hang there and also could be removable for security reasons ( connectors for the cables - see above )
hmmmmmm, back to the 3D CAD on this idea.......

I have seen a plug for the outside that decides when to turn on depending on the temp. You simply plug your car and if its cold ennough it will power the block heater. If you have an extension cable from the block heater to the inside, you could have a small heater to heat the carputer at the same time..?
I wonder about fire hasard, tough.
