Why wouldn't it be possible to use one of these to control a USB 5.1 sound card, hard drive, or DVD drive? Or by some miracle is it possible?

I've been using my Sony Clie NX80V as a "carputer" for quite a while. So far it foed everything I need it to.

    -GPS
    -Wifi
    -MP3
    -Video
    - And it has a great touch screen. (LOL)
    - O, and did I mention INSTANT on?

I'll post pics asap. I just got my car back from the body shop. Someone crashed into my passenger side. F'ed it all up. I wasn't even in my car. Damn person didn't even leave a note. I was only parked there for like 25min.

At least insurance paid to have it fixed and painted a different color.

    Peace,

    Rafster

The Asus A730W has built in WiFi, Bluetooth, SD, and CF slots and also ships from the factory with a cable the plugs in to the bottom for the BUILT IN USB HOST! I've been looking into this PDA for awhile I just can't convince my wife to let me get it! It is super thin, has a good battery, resolution is good and if I remember it is 400 mhz with 64mb. Might wanna check that out since it has the built in USB host. That is what caught my attention.

PS: I had considered using one of the dells and just getting an extra cradle to mold into my car so you get in and put it in and walla, you are up and going! (More than that though! Stupid details!)

The Dell Axim X50V has the option of VGA output. You connect something to the bottom of the uit, and youcan plug it in to any VGA monitor (640X480 Res)

It's got 624MHz, BT, Wifi, CF, and SD card. The only thing it doen't have is USB host, but as detailed below, you can get the in CF form. Seems like the Axim X50V is the perfect in car instant on solution.

This is what I came up with a fully insured X50v with out extra stuff like SD card (Already have a 1gb for my camera that I'm getting rid of)

Includes $229 BT GPS Mouse, and the VGA Presenter cable.

    Price does not include Lilliput.

Kinda expensive, but it its instant on!

Pocket PC as frontend for laptop

I have gone through this post and a few others and what i am wondering is this -

Is it possible to use your pocket pc as a touchscreen front end for you laptop in your car? If you could do that could you also play video on the laptop and have it play on the pocket pc also?

I found this website which uses this software seems like it might kind of work.

What I want to know is if anyone has done this maybe via terminal server connection or something.
