Car-Puter Hardware Problem, video card

I have a brand new Radeon 7000 multi-display edition. When I plugged it into my 2.4ghz box and pressed the power button, the computer powered on, monitor powered on, but nothing came up. no beeps, no bios, nothing. (old video card still works in that box). Tried it in a 700mhz no joy either. Tried it in an old 233mhz, and it worked great. Any ideas? O_o I'm confused.

Do you have a big enough power supply mayhaps?

Try resetting the BIOS, make sure you have the monitor cable plugged into the right port, make sure you set to boot from AGP / PCI VGA first, make sure you don't have a setting that your card doesn't support in your bios, like 8x agp mode for a 4x card.

the 2.4 has 200w, I didnt think of that but I cant up it. Its external. Only running 1 hard drive though, and no CDrom atm. The 700 has a 200 as well, and the 233 as a 150 I believe. I'll go find my 420w and try it on the 700mhz, see what happens

Also, make sure no metal is grounding out on anything, I often get symtoms just like this when a screw or something is stuck between the motherboard and metal backing.

Nope. the 700mhz still dosent work with it.

Also I checked for screws, nothing. It works with other video cards, which is what is so weird

Mobo is made for 4x, vid card is 4x. I reset the CMOS, nothing. still.
