I'm planning on modding an xbox as my carPC and using a pioneer headunit for the sound...
my question is... can i listen to music and have the GPS voice-guide me to my destination? Most HU's that i know of won't let you output 2 sources at the same( either you're listening to the radio, the CD, or the aux input only at one time).
Any suggestions?

I think you need to put a mixer in-line after the HU before the amp/speakers.Originally Posted by ummagawd

Anyone done this?

that's what i figured... it would come down to hardware issues... a mixer is a good idea... but i just don't like the thought of having more hardware to the mix (even though what's another piece to add to the whole carPC right?)
i think the only other way around this is to run EVERYTHING off the carPC.... radio and all. That would render the HU useless except for the sole purpose of easy sound connectivity.
the only thing that sucks about that is the sound quality of a FM tunercoming from a PC is kinda wack...
There is a motorcycle device that does it for about $150. Just search for motorcycle audio switcher.
I was researching the same thing (mixing multiple audio sources).
Would something like this work?

its cheap, pro-quality (comperatively anyway) and $20![]()
