Not likely. The sun is over a billion nits, and you look at its light reflected off things all day 40K nits is about 1/3 the brightness of a 60 watt light bulb. I agree it might be a bit bright during night though.

We could make something like this for our cars with the new destinator 3.1 SDK.

I might try something like this i was thinking of having something like this but on the top bit of the windscreen so you wont get distracted but now i gotta find the material for projecting a image.

This is very possible for any mp3car user

it's easy to do. Just build an enclosing device, replace the headunit with the screen, and allow the enclosing device to close just enough to cover a certain area, namely a portion of the screen that you push everything to and use buttons rigged around it to control it.

It suddenly sounds a lot harder........

Its not hard at all you can use a normal character LCD

Check out www.howthingswork.com and it gives u the idea of how to make it project onto the windscreen

You could buy a small strip of special reflective material (i forget the name) and get the character to display on that

its simple but the problem is trying to get the text ti be flipped the other way so when its reflected its the right way.

The software side can be made easily the code is available but trying to find the hardware that has a reversed display then you got a problem

Still im gonna investergate this some more indeed
