Anyone tried the Aver USB Radio?

Just found it and wondered if anyone had played with it yet?

If you have, what was the reception like?

Biggest problem I see is that there isn't a radiator driver/plug to manipulate yet.

    Just found This fm chip.

Seems wonderful, wonder how difficult it would be to build a small board using that, and controlling and powering it from USB with a decent choice of antenna connection, and/or pre-amp of the signal.

Ive noticed they do an AM/FM radio kit too. I wonder how difficult it would be to build an FM/AM radio kit and software control it though a PC interface?

I just got an AverRadio the other day. It works, but not very well. The reception is not the best. I can listen to fairly clear broadcasts in mono, but when I switch to stereo it really distorts. Another problem being that the sound will only come out of the front speakers (the volume on the backs being very low), eventhough I have my Audigy 2 set up to play sound out of all 4 speakers. Although I believe this to be an issue with my Audigy sound card more than the radio....

Alass... I also am waiting for an MP3 derived solution... :-/
