Ok, I read through this whole thread but am still a little confused...

When you have it plugged inside your house, do you ALSO have the USB touchscreen plugged in as well?

When you have it plugged into your car, have you powered up with everything BUT the USB touchscreen?

I'm just asking (if not reasking ) because the OS can have issues with either USB devices if the ACPI (power settings) are not reading peripherals correct.

Lastly...what does your Event Logs say under "System" when you're running inside the house. I would also disable "Automatic Reboot" on system failure just incase you are getting a BSOD, you may see some critical information on either a faulty driver or ACPI problem.

OK, right now. I have my house power supply (AC) hooked up to the computer outside. I have my fullscreen desktop monitor hooked up to the computer also.

Then I swtich the AC power to my OPUS 150w DC-DC.

The ONLY differnece i notice is with the AC is seems the computer will reboot itself one time and the second boot windows will load.

With the DC it seems like the windows success rate is 1 in every 5 boots windows will load.

And even when windows does load on either AC or DC power, it will then reboot itself at various timing intervals for no reason whatsoever.

So right now, the only peripeheral plugged into the computer is my keyboard (not usb) and fullscreen monitor(not usb)

How do i view my events log? And do you mean disable auto reboot thru my BIOS right?

ok, now im going thru my DC and windows has booted up 3 out of 3 times.. BUT now when in windows, it is rebooting again for no reason. All 3 times I let windows load, i then load frodo player and about 20 seconds later, windows reboots.

im gonna try loading something else.

For event logs, Right click the "My Computer" icon and select "Manage". From there, expand the "Event Viewer" sub tree and you'll see "Application" and "System".

This all is good and dandy though...if and when you get a successfull boot either in Safe Mode or Normal.

To disable the auto reboot, Right click the My Computer icon and go to "Properties". From their, click on the "Advanced" tab and on the bottom you will see "Settings" in the Startup and Recovery section. Click the "Settings" and remove the checkmark for "Automatically restart" under the System failure section of this screen.

I CANT be my power soruces. Cause this is happening BOTH on DC and AC current.

Im thinking its something with the MOBO.

Then i have my xenarc 700tsv hardwired to opus also.

I will be doing all your suggestions today and let you guys know what happens.
I have just about the same setup and I don't have any power problems.

My guess is it is a defective OPUS, or a bad connection from the remote turn on wire, or to the power switch on the motherboard. Could always be a bad Windows install too.

well for some unknown reason, it is booting fine now.

I took the car out and windows still shut down one time and rebooted for no reason. But 1 time in 30 minutes isnt bad i guess.

But windows wont come back from hibernation. It will try to resume and then i get an error and i have to restart normally.

But i find that it seems restarting is actually faster than coming outta hibernation.

Maybe you should exchange your Opus and get a new motherboard. That way you can pretty much rule out both as the cause.
