this install is kickin my ***....i really need help

My GOD! 2 weeks into the install and I have gotten basically nowhere except for running about 40 feet of wires from the front to the back of my car which I am now gonna prolly tear out anyway.

Heres my problem. The PC will boot up and windows will start to load, the XP logo will come up with the progress bar under it. Sometimes it will get thru all the loading and explorer shell is about to popup and then BAM!!! the via logo comes back up and it starts all over again.

Sometimes the XP logo will just pop up for a second and then the computer will restart itself.

Or sometimes XP will load. And then when im in xp, sooner or later, usually sooner, it just reboots for no reason.

Can someone throw me a freakin bone and tell me what the hell im doing wrong.

BTW, this ONLY happens when im hooked up in the car. When i bring the pc inside and hook up to an AC power source, it runs fine.

For my PS in the car i got an opus 150. I am running a dedicated 8awg power wire from the battery straight to the OPUS and I soldered the 8awg power wire to the opus power wire. I have a 8awg ground less than 2 feet of wire also soldered to the opus. And then i have the remote wire that turns my radio on hooked up to the opus also.

Now the thing is, when windows restarts, the actual OPUS never loses power. And neither does the MOBO. The fan will keep spinning as normal, but the reboot process will just start all over. In BIOS i am able to check the voltage level and everything seems fine.

    12volts - 12.46
    2.5 volts - 2.4
    5 volts - 4.89

These are almost the exact same values I get when hooked up to an AC power source in my house and in my house the computer runs fine.

    Strange...

If it works fine inside, I would point the finger at your power supply.

Do you plug all your peripherials that you have in your car into your computer when you go inside? What all do you have plugged into your opus?

Does it matter if I run all my wires down the same path? I mean i know this will affect noise in my speakers, but as far as having the PC actually run smoothly, it shoulden have an affect right?

the kicker is, before i had the opus, i just had a power supply and itps and the power, ground, and constant all ran off of 20awg wires in my cdplayer and the computer actually ran then.
