Reception was better with the factory car fm antenna and the booster.

batman, how did you make the adapter to use your existing car antenna, i was getting ready to hack up an old headunit to get the plug that goes in to the antenna and just do some soldering.

You can buy motorola connectors at radioshack, no need to hack up a headunit.

I used the car antenna adapter Frodo showed, coverted that to a regular cable fitting and plugged it in. Needed a antenna booster to get better reception. Also, be careful with what cable you use some of the standard "home" cable doesn't have enough shielding and you will get a bunch of static.

thanks for the clarification. Now another question. Is there an adapter that would slit the wire coming from the antenna that would allow me to just use that antenna and connect to the tv card? I extended the antenna wire to the carputer and just touched one end of the coax to the wire and the reception was pretty remarkable. I think using that antenna with a booster would suit me just fine.
