The Xbox has a digital audio out. You can get adapters to allow you to plug regular USB devices into the controller ports of an XBOX (which are just funny shaped USB). If the GPS unit has Linux drivers you sjould be OK...as long as you're familiar with Linux.

Actually there are several gps programs for linux. Any nmea gps should work with gpsd (which is what most gps programs use to get the data) if it is usb you may have to set the gps to read from /dev/usb/ttyUSB0. For carputer software go to http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=43989

And if you never used linux do yourself a favor and use a major distro like mandrake or fedora.

Or you can just hack up an xbox extension wire and wire up to normal usb.

I've done this the other way around to hook my xbox controller to my computer, but I'm sure it goes both ways.

actually the best method Ive done is to to splice a USB extention cable into the XBOX controller's breaker cable:



controller-round break away-USB out-USB IN-round plug into XBOX plug-XBOX

then you unhook it where the USB thing is if you want to have USB into the XBOX or if you wanna use your XBOX controller with your PC

Isn't one of the wires in the Xbox USB a +12V?

It goes both ways...

I meant that if you can hack up an xbox controller extension with a normal usb connector to use a controller with your PC, then you must be able to hack up the same cable and put on a usb receiver and use it with the Xbox.

C'mon now...

Adapters for XBox to USB and for USB to xbox can be bought for cheap or made for cheap do a litte

.... do we have a touchsceen driver working for linux yet ?
