    Post LCD Covers

K, im tryin to make one of these for my Civic, if anyone has ANY sort of experiance please help me out a bit, hehe, so far what im doing is taking some plexi i have left from my case, cuttitng it to size, then getting some balsa wood (from old remote plane), cutting the Honda emblem outa that (a square w/ a H in the middle)

Since i cant cut the H out of the square im making 2 layers
    Layer 1 = Square
Layer 2 = H (in the middle of the square)

glue the layers togeather, then glue them in the middle of the plexi cover, then covering it all with vynal. Like i said, its a huge experiment, but if you have any idea, please give me some ideas =] Also, what kinda glue is best for vynal, the fabric lady said spray on, but that didnt work so im giving that cement stuff a try. Il show you guys the final product in a bit =]

this one looks sweet, but im not aiming that high, id only set my self up for a big let down.

dont be fooled about the looks of the logo !
it is a thin layer of vinyl traced in the logo and then glued on the wood.
then cover the total again in vinyl.
if you use something too thick for the logo it will not look right.
i did a simular thing a while ago on my subbox.

Ahhhh, that makes it so much easier #@$
With the balsa wood i had troubles cause it kept breaking when i tried to do the H in the middle. Doh, now that you tell me this, it will be soooo much easier, thanks.

Still, any ideas for glue ?
and should i use plexi or wood ?

i used mdf (medium density fibreboard) for the panel and traced my logo on the same vinyl as i used to cover the entire thing up with.
i cutted out the logo with a razor blade.
glue the logo on your board using spray glue.
then spray glue over your board and your logo and the cover the whole in vinyl again and use an hairblower to stretch/soften the stuff when you pull it over your board.

good luck and keep us posted

You said the spray glue didn't work before. Do be cheap! Buy the 3M Sprayment! That's the best there is. Hope this helps. I used to install at a car audio shop. Anymore questions, I'll answer for ya.
