superglue,j/k, I have been able to get them to stay down just by bending the tab down slightly
the carputer is doing great except for one prob. the pci video card shakes out(just enough, not all the way) over large bumps, train traks, etc, and freezes the comp. what can i use to make it stay put?? it ****es me off cause i go over some mest up parts of road and i have to restart the comp like 2-3 times on my way to work.
thanks in advance

duct tape... for when you have something that moves.. and it shouldnt...![]()
<> I've seen some folks use HotGlue, make sure the stuf you use is electronicaly innert.
<> rubberbands used as 'bungie cords' is a 2nd option
<> Moving the CPU(case) to some other location that doesn't take that kind of shock.
(and it's more the rythym, not neccesarily the amplitude of the shock. so the solution could be as symple as changing the orientation of the case.

I think that means you are not using a backplane to retain the card with a screw (like a case has)
You can tie it in with something, make a bracket, change your case to hold it in somehow.
I think I remember someone using hot glue but I would have concerns about that getting to warm on a hot day and the car parked in the sun![]()

yeah thats why you use superglue, doesnt melt. I hope you don't want to take the card back out though.

I have seen people use thin plastic wire to tie up cards in their slots to keep them in place...
I use zip ties to hold my cards down. I have a wood case and i just ran a few staples along the bottom and attach the zip ties to this and go around the top of the card. Easy to remove and reattach later.
i dont have a case so thats why i cant attach with screws. also, i cant change the orentation(sp?) since its in the glove box. what is that glue-like thing they use so screws wont come loose? it is like glue, but turns hard and brittle, so when you take things out, it just brakes off. do yall know what im talking about?? i might just go with hot glue.or zip ties if i can find a way to attach them.
