It's a VGA/composite vid converter with a TV tuner. Its advantages are that people can watch TV on the other screens while I use the computer, and it has a composite (RCA and S-vid) video-in jack for my GameCube. And it runs on 12V.
And now I'm seeing that on eBay they've got these:

...which is the same thing only with a built-in mpeg recorder. Damn it... and it's only $10 than the one I got.

I have a hauppauge usb also... reception sucks. Not hauppauges fault, just haven't been able to find a good antenna solution. (I can't have one of those limo fly'n Vs sitting on top of my SUV!)
I made a connection for the FM tuner to connect to the car antenna. reception is impressive but i think it needs a fm amp.
tv needs serious help. for now i have this as the tv antenna. it works but like i said tv needs help.
