    Exclamation Nice article on LCD construction and software!

    This was directed towards the use of having an LCD on a desktop computer, but is perfectly applicable to mp3car use. Very nicely done.

    Thanks for the vote of confidence on the article - I had a blast writing it.

    While the original intent was for using the LCDs as status displays for computers, there are Winamp plugins for driving serial LCDs, and there's also a couple LCD drivers for Linux (and I believe someone already coded a LCD driver for a couple Linux-based MP3 players), so a lot of the work is already done.

    If anyone wants a few links on the subject, drop me a note and let me know.

    hummmm now I might have to get another Serial LCD display for when I finaly get my car system working so I will have something to play around with still on my home system.

    I didn't realize you could run the 44780 displays off either serial or parallel.

    I think I need to get another display.
