    Thumbs up

    Hi vicky_obee,

I got one of these from Dw, and I just love it! I have and old 86 Celica and there is absolutely no room for any kind of oem style indash custom monitor. It fits underneath my head unit and does look nice(opened or closed). I was impressed with the image quality and being able to switch from VGA to RCA inputs is done easily by pressing a button on the frame. There is no remote but I can't see the use of it anyways.

I also find that not being motorized is a great feature as whenever the cops pull me over I can close/fold it away really quickly. It is horizontally adjustable (pan left and right) which means that I don't need to press a button to adjust the monitor from glare or when my girl friend wants to watch videos.

As for power, it auto switches to standby mode if no signal is received. What a great feature, no need to make a custom circuit to have it turned off / on automatically.

    I would definitely recommend it.

    Here we go:

This is what your buttons look like originally:

This is what your buttons should look like after you take everything but the buttons off. Substitute the IR receiver for the one that is in your Lilliput:

Few more things you need to do to the button board. Cut the trace shown in the picture and attach a wire to that button. Also you need to ground the Power and V1/V2/VGA buttons as shown in the picture:

Lastly, connecting the button PCB to the lilliput:

A note about the button PCB: on the button PCB the last button is labeled as DOWN/-, and on the housing the last button is actually +. Diagrams above take this into consideration.

Let me know if you have any questions.
    Thanks,
    Armen

oops, Armen, everything going loose, again and again. I keep a screw driver handy as the in dash monitor always goes loose again. Is there a way to fix this? I don't fold the screen in neither, but only when there are cops around or in unsafe areas. It's getting quite annoying. If i don't tighten it, it would wobble when the road is slightly not even.

Try a VERY SMALL dab of loctite or similar thread locker. That should do the trick.
