    Try using a tricolour led and zeners to change it from red through orange to green depending on the voltage, got a circuit diagram from an old mag works ok very small. Its an old article from EE. the pics are a bit poor if you want better i will have to rescan them. Let me know

    But I think it would be much cooler to use like 20 or 40 LED's and put them in a circle like a real gauge.

    @ old Lou : 1 LED? would that not be a bit pants in the day? Hmmm. Special Order job that one - if you want one i will make it. But let me sqaure the others away first.

    @JCDILLIN: Can be bought already, and are pricey.Where would you put it? there are these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WD2V

    I would mount it in my A pillar like the rice rockets then i'm going to get highlights and a hot girlfriend . Actually a small bar would still be cool or a numeric as well.

    Yup know its a bit pants but you can wire it direct into anywhere and it can stay on because the drain is hardly anything and will give you a indication of battery state all the time if you make a circular one you can stick this one in the middle

    I just googled a bit and found this for $25: http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products...sp?Item=BOVOLT

    The single tri-color LED will show five different ranges of voltages:

    * Flashing Green (Above 15V)
    * Steady Green (12-15V)
    * Steady Amber (11-12V)
    * Steady Red (10-11V)
    * Flashing Red (Below 10V)
