    @ gt__1: how do you think it could be lit? about your idea "Why dont you just buy a cheap multi meter ( $10 -15 ) take it out of the case and hook the wires up to the battery. nice and easy and no time at all
    then you can mount the display anywhere you want
    2 LED's?? one either side of the LCD to light it up. Nice and easy.

    You can buy a regular no name brand 12v gauge for that much

    hmmmmm why dont u just wire the thing up to the car puter?........i saw sum where, that showed how u can wire the battery to the comp so the comp thinks the battery is a ups surge thingy...(sorta like a laptop, get what i mean?)

    of course this is for cars that dont already have a built in voltage meter im assuming.... right???

    I have a built in voltmeter also, but now have added a second battery so my second voltmeter is connected to the second battery which is isolated from the first.

    I need one with numeric read out, if you can drive one line LCD that would be way cool. Can you build it for me. I am working on a project for one of my family members and need something like that. Thanx
